Roxanne Nikki, born and raised in Winnipeg, started designing when she was just three years old. After noticing her sketches, Nikki’s mother began making her clothing. It was not until she was writing her final exams to receive her Bachelor of Arts in anthropology and sociology from the University of Winnipeg, however that Nikki realized she could have a career in fashion design. After graduating from LaSalle College in Montreal, Nikki worked for a variety of companies as an illustrator, pattern maker and junior designer . Her unique brand of styling soon became a fulltime obsession, and the eponymous label was born. Upon selling her first collection nationwide in 1994, Nikki’s instincts were to move her design business from Montreal to Vancouver. Her instincts and passion have served her well, garnering the designer national awards and international recognition as one of Canada's top talents. Roxanne Nikki collections have been sold in department stores and specialty boutiques across Canada, and continue to be showcased internationally. A constant for Nikki has been dressing the stars both on and off-screen. Her clothing has been worn by the likes of Rock Legends Michael Stipe, and Nick Gilder, walked the Red Carpet, and graced the silver screen. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s movie “ The Sixth Day” made it hard to miss Roxanne Nikki designs in a futuristic party scene and Milla Jovavich slipped into a Roxanne Nikki knit chainmail dress for the international advertising campaign of Sony Picture’s “The Messenger”. Having gained an international reputation for filling a void in the market for original designs that deliver what customers want in lifestyle clothing, Nikki’s vision and key to success pays close attention to what‘s next, and sets new standards with luxe detailing. It is the freshness of contrasts that make Nikki’s collections so unique. Roxanne Nikki collections promise fashion forward separates that mix and layer easily and comfortably, where signature pieces coordinate endless looks that move easily from day into night. “The fashion statement of today breaks all the rules. It’s no longer about following trends but rather self-expression, and the independent style consciousness of a new generation. Function and style savvy override frippery and occasion as I strive to meet my customers’ needs for lifestyle dressing, and the power of the personal statement.” An entrepreneur and traveller at heart, Roxanne has lived in Montreal, Paris as well as Vancouver where she now resides and continues to hone her vision of "Modern Luxury" and "Nonstop Chic" to an ever growing international audience.
